I’m not new to running but by the title and image above you can see its probably been a while since I was logging the miles I remember running just shy of 20 years ago. Those years flew by and the weight piled on – until I was 240 pounds. Until this year…
You see, I woke up one day and decided to take control of my health. But I didn’t want to do it with a crash diet. I didn’t want to do it with any other gimmick. I simply wanted to eat healthier (more simple and clean), run (knowing it would take off the weight) with the final result of actually living!
So how does any sane person do this? Obviously (especially if that person is co-owner of a website with his wife) he starts a 90-Day Fitness and Health Challenge and challenges himself and their readers with the goal of a healthier and fitter life. And why not start an Instagram account – @thriftyhealthcouple – to encourage himself and as many people as he could to find that healthier lifestyle.
Well, maybe that’s not what sane person does, but that’s what I did.
Which brings me to today – 50+ pounds lighter (never thought I would ever say that!), a runner again with lofty goals and a budding journey ahead of me. So I decided to start this site to track my journey, inspire as many as I can and keep chasing my dreams of being a runner – or rather, a better runner.
Because, I state it today and yell it from the mountain tops: I AM a runner!
I just love it! I love to get out, enjoy the fresh air and enjoy the calm, the solace, the sound of my breathing mixed with the birds, the wind and sometimes the rain. I am a runner with a passion to become faster and stronger than I have ever been.
And I’m on my way to becoming that.
So I invite you to follow along, whether on my new Instagram account (@livehealthrun), or via Twitter (@livehealthrun), or even sign up to get my newsletter 1-2 times per week. But however you do it, I invite you to share your journey with me – leave comments and even share tips that you might have to make my journey easier.
We are all in this journey together and we are all part of the running community. Will you join me? May I join you? Lets do it together!
Running for Life…
